EverClip 2 - Clip everything to Evernote App Reviews

Warning: most recent update severely crippled app

No longer stays open in the back ground. Closes after ten minutes like all other apps (IOS rules). Update came a week after I bought, go figure. (Do not pay ten dollars for this app if you do, with it no longer remaining open indefinitely, you are seriously an.....) Get clips or clipboard or any other number of much better clipboard apps, now that evernotes built in webclipper (on mobile IOS- like the one on your phone right now that comes up as save to Evernote when you click the share button in the safari app) clips pages the same if not much better then this app. The only reason to get this is for copying links rapidly - a legit 50 percent of the time this benefit is negated in that the link does nothing when copied except get copied as a link. Sometimes will give you the website page though which is cool, but only half the time and even then content is missing in the layout where as if you use the built in one from the actual Evernote app you get the whole page beautifully. Honestly I like the app its pretty useful but obviously not worth it since it got nerfed (crippled). So if you havent bought it dont because even when it worked right 10 dollars was ridiculous. Whoever makes the app is a d bag IMHO for that price

Annoying

Every time when I try to sync "too many" clips to Evernote at once, or merge "too many" clips together, the app crashes and can never be reopened again (as in, I have to reinstall the app every time this happens). This is outrageously annoying. What kinda app does that? This bug exists for as long as I can remember, like since when I first started using it, which was quite a few months ago. They never fix this.

Warning: App stopped working completely

After months of successful use the app stopped working completely just yesterday. When I tap the app icon the app starts to open then quickly crashes and disappears. Its strange considering the sudden change with no recent iOS or app updates. Everclip - please address this. Thanks Update: to DEVELOPER IGNITION: Why havent you addressed this major bug??

Could be better

The app should be able to recognize hyperlinks... Phone numbers that you can click and call without leaving the app, map links and most importantly, urls. Please add this in a future update. This app was expensive, and I would not be afraid to pay an in app purchase if it were a useful enough update. Also, please fight with apple and try to get this app to be able to run in the background. Could you add some other functionality that apple would allow it to run longer with? There has to be a way. The time limit ruins the effectiveness of this app.

Best App!!!

This is just a great app. It works on a consistent basis. It looks good and it syncs up with Evernote beautifully. This is an essential app for every iPhone. thankyou everclip developers for making this app. just awesome

Version 2 much better

Great tool for capturing and remembering what is valuable and useful from your web surfing and research.

Lost all clips, details within

I lost 92 clips while doing research for a paper. The developer said to send the error message from the iPad crash report to them and theyd get back to me. I did, and in the two month time frame since, Ive heard nothing back after emailing them twice. _____ previous review: This app would be five stars if after copying into the today notification widget it didnt force you to open the everclip app too. Rather any copied text could be collected in the Notification Center the way the similar clips app does. Also, I wish there was a higher time limit on it staying active in the background, but I know thats Apples fault not the developers.

Requires continual relaunching -- useless!

It stops itself after a minute or so and pops up a message that its background session has ended and you must relaunch it. So its pretty useless while youre browsing. In fact it just did it while I was writing this short review

Amazing

The option to use the Notification Center to capture text is just amazing!!! I really did not use this application much before but I use the Notification Center plugin to capture text all the time!

Very useful

Indispensable! A must -have app for Evernote users. I depend on Evernote to capture and collect a lot of research for a book Im writing and to capture information on investments among many other things. Everclip is very useful to me, as it allows me to capture information and web pages on my iPad, and send these to Evernote. While I read a criticism of this app in that it times out frequently, that is a limitation of iOS. But its one you can quickly work around. For me, this app is well worth the money, as I can clip exactly what I need and quickly.

Junk

Just wasted 9.99. Opened up the app, copied some text. Swiped down, seen that it was in clipboard. Had a number 1 in ever lip icon. Tapped the icon. It opened up in everclip. All it did was show a blank page, telling to go to another app and copy something and return. I have done that 5 times. It showed a number 5 in the everclip icon, in notification page, but keeps going to a blank page, requesting me to copy something in another app and return. Talk about a run around

Absolute garbage. Fraudulent advertising.

This app does nothing it claims to. It does not work and should not continue to be sold, let alone for $10. Outrageous--I feel mighty stupid.

Good, needs some work

Overall, good app for what is does. A tad overpriced as far as overall functionality. Its nice to be able to copy a link and have it clip the article to Evernote (temporarily). Would love to see 1) the ability to search Evernote notebooks once an item has been clipped and needs to be saved 2) the ability to preview an item. This way I know it has been clipped properly before copying something else. 3) let us store multiple clips - like how Paste works on Mac or how Clips works on iOS. Right now I clip something, then have to go check to see make sure what I clipped was copied properly. I think with these features it would help improve the app and would mean one less app I have to keep.

Everclip 2 is a waste of money.

Wow - what a disappointment. Everclip was awesome and worked great. But it stopped working and they came out with this $10 Everclip2 app that was supposed to be and should have been $10 better. Not even close. Dont waste you money - you will be disappointed. The app doesnt do what it says over half the time and my request for help has been ignored. This was a major rip-off. Save the money and the disappointment.

A must if you use Evernote and iOS

Works much better than the iOS web clipper.

Love this app!

This is a great app for copying web content, editing it and then categorizing the note before sending it to Evernote. Very handy tool!

Great upgrade!

The is a significant improvement over the older version, especially with the feature to clip a article or PDF, hold it permanently with the EverClip app, I assume indefinitely, and when you are ready move it seamlessly to the right notebook, tag, etc., immediately.

Very Useful App

This app allows me to clip from websites and other sources (such as emails) and then forward the clip to the proper notebook (& tagged) in Evernote. After I start it, it lurks in the background for several minutes, so that I can aggregate several clips into one note. (Unfortunately, Apple limits the lurking time - ten minutes, I believe.) Before forwarding to Evernote, I can edit the clip, and type in any additional information. I can also give a title to the note, and copy & paste in the URL. A feature that I would like to be included, but does not affect my rating, is the ability to set a reminder before sending the clip to Evernote. Another feature that I would find useful is for the app to automatically paste the first ten words of any clip into the title space, as a default title. The bottom line is that I would happily pay for this app, but "free" is a good price!

Disappointing

Started crashing within first hour of use. Cant even open app anymore - splashes then crashes. Waste of $7.99.

Rediscovered this recently, fills a need perfectly

I bought this app along time ago, but it didnt quite meet my web clipping needs. That was before share extensions and today widgets, both of which greatly enhance the usefulness of this app. Still, Evernote itself has a share extension, so why use this instead? Simple. Evernote does a horrible job of clipping web pages. It basically saves them as is, only sometimes it gets tripped up by formatting, scripts, etc. Everclip 2 basically performs a reader mode conversion on the page, making a great combination of plain text (no html) with the inline images included. Perfect. I was using a Workflow to convert pages to plain text, but this works better because it gets images as well. The developer has done a good job at understanding what people are actually trying to do when they clip a webpage.
